Vegan & Gluten-Free French Toast

Treat someone special to a gluten-free and vegan French toast alternative! Topped with maple syrup and fresh fruit – it’s a delicious way to start the day and to show someone special a bit of love.

Gluten free, vegan

6 pieces 

Ingredients

1 cup almond milk

1 tbsp Flannerys Own maple syrup

2 tbsp Flannerys Own gluten-free plain flour

1 tbsp nutritional yeast

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of sea salt

Flannerys Own extra virgin coconut oil

6 slices crusty GF bread (check for milk and egg ingredients to ensure its vegan-friendly)

Method

  • 1. Whisk together milk, maple syrup, flour, yeast, cinnamon and sea salt in a small jug until combined.

  • 2. Heat oil in a medium frypan. Place one bread slice in a shallow dish with sides, pour over a small amount of mixture slowly to coat all sides, then cook for a few minutes on each side until golden brown.

  • 3. Repeat for all slices. Serve with maple syrup and fresh fruit.
