Raw vegan Brownie
Everyone loves a chocolate brownie and this recipe gives a healthier option!
Ingredients
- 1 cup OWN Organic Walnuts
- 1 cup OWN Organic Cashews
- 250g pitted organic medjool dates
- 30ml OWN Organic EV Coconut Oil – warm
- 40g OWN Certified Organic Cacao Powder – but add more if you like it rich!
- 100g OWN Certified Organic Desiccated Coconut
- 30ml OWN Maple Syrup
- a pinch of salt
- water to loosen if necessary
Topping
- 150ml OWN Organic EV Coconut Oil – warm
- 70g OWN Certified Organic Cacao Powder
- 80ml OWN Maple Syrup
- a pinch of salt
- OWN Certified Organic Cacao Nibs to top
Method
- Place nuts and dates in a food processor and puree until fine
- Then add the coconut oil, maple syrup, salt and coconut – mix until smooth. If needed, add water or a little extra melted coconut oil to get desired smooth consistency
- Press into a lined brownie tray and refrigerate
- Make the chocolate topping by mixing all the ingredients together until very smooth – taste and add more cacao/syrup/salt dependant on your taste!
- Pour over brownie base and put back in the fridge until set
- We sprinkled cacao nibs on top to serve!
