Paleo Almond Hummus

Gluten free too – this hummus is perfect for snacks and dips

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Flannerys Almonds – blanched or use slivered almonds
  • 2 TBS Flannerys Organic Tahini
  • 4 TBS Flannerys Organic EV Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • Juice of a lemon
  • 1 garlic glove
  • 1 tsp Flannerys Himalayan Salt
  • a pinch of pepper

Method

  • Pre-blanch the almonds by soaking them in a bowl of boiling water.  Drain after a couple of minutes and start to remove the skins by slightly squeezing the nut closer to the round end – it should pop off!
  • Otherwise use pre-blanched or slivered almonds
  • Add all the ingredients to a blender and process until smooth
  • Store in the fridge and add a drizzle of olive oil over top to keep from drying out
  • Serve with fresh herbs, a little extra olive oil and cracked pepper
