MACAdamia Caramel Slice
An ooey-gooey, mouth-watering chocolate caramel slice featuring the addition of maca. With its malty, caramel-like butterscotch taste, maca is a perfect match for chocolate.

Ingredients:
Base:

- 3/4 cup buckinis (buckwheat groats)
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 6 medjool dates
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
Caramel:
- 1 cup macadamias (soaked for 3-6 hours)
- 1/3 cup coconut cream
- 1/4 cup cashew butter
- 1/4 cup filtered water
- 2 tbsp coconut oil melted
- 3 medjool dates
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp hulled tahini
- 1/2 tbsp Maca Powder (you can use any of the maca power super foods powder you like)
- 1 tsp vanilla paste or extract
- 1 tsp salt
Chocolate:
- 1/3 cup smooth cashew butte
- 1/3 cup coconut cream
- 1/3 cup Cacao Powder
- 2-3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 & 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
Method:
- Place all ingredients for the base in a high power blender and blend until smooth
- Press mixture into a greased and lined baking tray and set aside while you prepare the filling
- Drain and rinse the macadamias and place in the blender. Add all remaining filling ingredients and blend until smooth
- Spread evenly on top of the base
- Place in freezer for 1-2 hours until set
- Combine all chocolate ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix until smooth. Spoon on top of the caramel.
- Allow to set for another 1-2 hours in the freezer then place in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
